St Peter’s Primary School aims to encourage positive attitudes towards learning English/Literacy, to develop students’ ability in using language effectively and to enable critical reflection on how language works. We aim to develop a broad knowledge of a range of literature, and knowledge, skills and understandings when using a wide range of technologies.

The outcomes and content in the English K–6 Syllabus are organised
in three strands:
  • Talking and Listening
  • Reading (including viewing i.e. visual literacy)
  • Writing (including spelling, handwriting, punctuation, using computers)
